These terms apply to every order placed on this website. By placing an order you agree to them. They are written to comply with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA).

1. Who we are

Dvinyls is an online record store run by Rudolf J Joubert as a sole proprietor, based in Cape Town, and delivers to addresses in South Africa. We do not run a walk-in shop. Many records are sourced to order from our distribution partners after you buy.

2. Prices and payment

All prices are in South African Rand and include VAT where applicable. Delivery is charged at checkout: R99 per order, free on orders of R1,500 or more. Card and instant payments are processed by PayFast, and we never see or store your card details. You can also pay by EFT into our bank account. EFT orders are reserved for 2 days. If payment hasn't reflected by then, the order may be cancelled. We only order your records once your payment has reflected.

3. Availability and sourcing

Each product shows a delivery estimate. Fast delivery items usually arrive in 3–5 working days. Ordered in items are imported for you and usually arrive in 14–25 working days. If a distributor cannot supply an item after you have paid, we will tell you within 5 working days and refund that item in full, or offer an alternative if you prefer.

4. Pre-orders

Pre-orders are reserved with a 50% deposit. We request the balance when the record reaches us. Release dates are set by the label and may change. If a release is cancelled, or you no longer want it after a delay of more than 30 days, we refund your deposit in full.

6. Product information

We take care to describe every record accurately, including format, label and catalogue number. Cover images may differ slightly from the pressing supplied, for example a different sticker or print run.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the CPA. Our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it, except where the law does not allow such a limit.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
